UPDATED GANTT CHART

As time goes by, the group encountered some issues with previous Gantt chart. After meeting with machine shop technician and teaching assistant, we needed to discuss more about orientation of the system and different type of sensor. Technician suggested to change the orientation of the enclosure. If we hang back on the tank, the tank might not have enough weight to withstand it. Also, the group was planning on using laser sensor, but teaching assistant said it would not accurate since there will be a reflection of the light due to water. Therefore, the end date of research and decide part has been longer.Â
When we conducted the Gantt chart, we did not consider the spring break. Due to the spring break, the start and end date of testing sensors with programs, machining the materials, and assembly got postponed. However, the group purchased the sensors and other miscellaneous equipment earlier than expected, so we were allowed to calibrate the sensors ahead than it scheduled.

All group members met and discussed the project at 11:00 AM today at 101 Bell Hall. For the project there will be two areas that need to be addressed, the electrical and the mechanical. Group members will be assigned to one of these areas however group members can interact with both areas.
We introduced ourselves since John Gray is our new member in our team. Followed by introducing the things we have done in this project so that the new member can catch up very quickly. And then, we mainly discussed about how to finalize the design of our product, including deciding the specific size of the PVC pipe and the pump. After that we had done the project planning for this semester, including making the Gantt Chart. The Gantt Chart has 5 main parts: preparation work, finalize the design and CAD drawing, materials and components, construct the prototype, and project presentation. Each part has some sub-tasks. We discussed about the responsible personal for each sub-task, as well as the start and end date for each sub-task.
